You probably noticed that TechPresentations.org got a huge amount of pages related to RFCs sometime last spring.

Finally, I polished the script that imports updates from RFC-editor.org index and now it’ll be updated once a month with recent RFCs.

How it affects the site? – First of all, for the first time web standards information got published in RDF format and can be used on Semantic Web. I already have most of the topics linked to DBPedia so it can probably be considered to be part of the LOD – now, this also includes RFC information..

Second, most RFCs have keywords associated with them and based on this, each topic, in addition to a list of conferences and presentations, now also has a list of standards associated with the topic (see: HTTP, JavaScript, World Wide Web, e-mail).

I hope that next time I can pay attention to the site, I’ll get W3C’s recommendations as well

I hope that having standard information next to presentations will be helpful for your research and will appreciate any feedback.

Another great presentation about web performance by Steve Souders at Widget Summit 2007.

First part is dedicated to general rules of web performance similar to his original High Performance Webpages presentation and in the second part he reviews performance characteristics of multiple widgets on the market and gives some advices.

See on TechPresentations.org: High Performance Widgets.

I’ve added one more useful feed, the one I’d be using most often (if I wasn’t the one who updates it mostly) – feed of conferences that posted a page with presentation materials (slides/videos/transcripts and etc).

If you’ll find a good presentations, you’re more then welcome to post it.

Another interesting presentation about web performance from Yahoo!’s Exceptional Performance team, this time by Stoyan Stefanov, lead developer, YSlow.

20 more tips-n-tricks, a couple new tools and more interesting numbers. I wish there was a video with all minor details that slides don’t convey.

See on TechPresentations.org: High Performance Web Pages

Google organizes new conference for developers at Mascone West in San Francisco. It’s called Google I/O (and it’s logo is a little bit sexual, at least from my geeky perspective ;).

It’s going to be about AJAX, JavaScript, OpenSocial and other related open and specific to Google web technologies. Among the speakers Guido van Rossum, author of Python.
